When planning for zygoma revision reconstruction surgery, the following points should be considered:

The difference between a consultation for zygoma reduction surgery and zygoma revision reconstruction consultation lies in the approach.

In zygoma reduction consultations, the plan is based on the preoperative appearance and focuses on determining how much reduction should be done.

However, in zygoma revision reconstruction consultations, not only is the appearance immediately before the revision surgery considered, but the original appearance before the initial zygoma reduction surgery is also taken into account.

If CT scans from before the original zygoma reduction surgery are available during the revision surgery consultation, the patient's aesthetic requirements can be more objectively evaluated, allowing for a more predictable surgical plan.

First, a virtual simulation of zygoma movement is performed using a CT scan of the current state, i.e., before the revision surgery.

Next, the bone segments are adjusted according to the skeletal structure before the original zygoma reduction surgery.

By comparing the current state with the pre-reduction skeletal structure, the final design is determined in consultation with the patient.
